ABOUT THE PRACTICE

Background
Karly Trotter founded Convergent Mental Health and Wellness to provide holistic care that addresses the root causes of mental health distress. She values the healing power of both Western medicine (i.e. talk therapy, psychiatry, nutrition counseling, and specialty treatments) and Eastern practices (Reiki, mindfulness, acupuncture, and spiritual work). By integrating these wisdoms, Karly creates a space that honors the body as an interconnected system and supports whole-person healing. As she expands her expertise and referral network, she strives to empower individuals with personalized, evidence-based therapies, compassionate guidance, and mindful wellness practices.
Mission
To blend compassion, collaboration, and curiosity into a trauma-informed, evidence-based approach to holistic wellness. I strive to provide accessible, client-directed care that honors individual goals, integrates diverse theoretical orientations, and fosters growth in a supportive environment.

Vision
"To create a community where medicine and wellness converge, offering individuals the support they need to cultivate mind-body-spirit connection and transform their lives through holistic well-being."
The Logo
The spiral is one of the oldest geometric shapes found in the ancient world. These swirling designs span cultures and millennia of art, music, mathematics, science and more. Spirals are one of the most common structures found nature and can be seen from the microscopic forms of a shell, the path of draining water, and the growth patterns of plants... to the macroscopic structures of storms, galaxies, solar systems, and the universe.

Spirals are also a rich symbol conceptually, mythologically, spiritually, and psychologically. It is speculated that neolithic spiral paintings and carvings represented a portal the spirit world, or life beyond itself. (1)
In ancient Greece and Rome, the spiral was associated with the concept of eternity and the cyclical nature of time. (2)
The artist Robert Smithson shared, "One could perhaps see it as a culturally collective symbol of the emergence of the feminine," and regarding his famous artwork Spiral Jetty, "the spiral goes counter-clockwise, toward the unconscious." (3)
In esoteric traditions such as sacred geometry, the spiral is seen as a fundamental shape that represents the interconnectedness of all things and the universal pattern of growth and evolution. (4)
The koru spiral seen in Māori art, carvings, and tattoos resembles the unfurling frond of the native New Zealand fern, and is believed to depict new beginnings, life and hope. (5)
During one of his seminars on symbols and psychology, Carl Jung shared, "The spiral in psychology means that when you make a spiral you always come over the same point where you have been before, but never really the same, it is above or below, inside, outside, so it means growth." ("Dream Analysis: Notes of the Seminar Given in 1928-1930", pg 232-233.) He describes that the upward spiral of healing and growth involves a return to old points and patterns, but with a newfound sense of understanding.
In modern times, the spiral continues to be a powerful symbol with diverse interpretations. Overall, it symbolizes the cyclical nature of existence, the interconnectedness of all life, and the journey of growth and transformation. Its rich history and universal significance have made it a timeless symbol that continues to inspire and resonate with people across cultures and generations.
I chose the spiral as the logo because of its universal presence and transformative symbolism. Ultimately, it is my passion to help clients reestablish connection to a grounded inner Self, foster lasting interpersonal connections, and honor the collective wisdom of eastern and western approaches to heal the body and mind. I believe the symbol of the spiral mirrors those intentions. I also love how it remains complex, open ended, and requires the personal interpretation of the seer.
